Jay-Z Finds Deron Williams A Place To Live
Jay-Z may only own a measly one-fifteenth of one percent of the Brooklyn Nets franchise, but his overachieving attitude in their inner workings will be key to the success of the Barclays Center and the team. He’s helped with he’s helped with the logo design, the official jersey color scheme, music selection during games, and now he’s playing realtor.
In a New York Times article recently published, they asked general manger Billy King what Jay does for the team. King answered, “When Deron Williams was making his decision about whether or not he wanted to sign with the nets, he was struggling for a place to live. Jay-Z goes, ‘Tell him I’ll call him tomorrow and I’ll help.’ It’s a lot about being able to relate to being wealthy, being young, being African-American. He can relate to them, where maybe I can’t or Mikhail Prokhorov can’t.”
When the Barclays Center has it’s grand opening this fall, Hov will kick things off with a series of sold-out shows.
