Zimmerman Ducks Charges for First-Degree Murder Charges of Trayvon Martin!

NO First-Degree Murder Charge for Zimmerman

In a surprise turn in the Trayvon Martin case, special prosecutor and State Attorney Angela Corey decided against using a grand jury, saying in a press release that “it’s not needed.”

In short, alleged gunman George Zimmerman cannot be tried for first-degree murder since a grand jury would be needed for that charge.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Sanford police classified the case as a possible manslaughter before it was turned over to prosecutors.  Since Martin was not an adult at the time of his death, a manslaughter charge could carry a maximum sentence of 30 years.

Zimmerman has yet to be arrested, despite more evidence emerging which supports the argument that this was a homicide.
